Thursday, May 7 – That Terrible Day

WATCHWORD:

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings and shortcomings.” Mark 11:25,26 (amplified) Continue reading

Wednesday, May 6 – Meet Me in the Morning

WATCHWORD:

Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Psalm 29:2

Though you have not seen him, you love him.
Though you do not now see him, you believe in him
and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
1 Peter 1:8 Continue reading

Tuesday, May 5 – Cinco de Mayo!

WATCHWORD:

God’s Revelation to Elijah: 11 The Lord said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings19:11-12 Continue reading

Monday, May 4 – Given by God

WATCHWORD:

John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before Him.’ He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore, this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.” Continue reading

Sunday, May 3 – His Word Unchanged

WATCHWORD:

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8 King James

5-8 If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.” James 1:5-8 Message Continue reading

Saturday, May 2 – Silly Saturday

WATCHWORD:

1-3 Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way,
all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it.
Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in.
Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—
that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way:
Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.
When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item,
that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! Continue reading

Faithful Love

WATCHWORD:

22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
23 Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!”

Tuesday, April 28 – Peace is Not Fear*

WATCHWORD:

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Where can I go and meet with God?

11 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God
.

Psalm 42:1-2,11 Continue reading

Sunday, April 26 – T’ween Heaven and Earth

WATCHWORD:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people;[c] then you won’t become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin. And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children?[d] He said, “My child,[e] don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you.For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”[f]As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Hebrews 12:1-7, Proverbs 3:12. Saturday, April 25 – Worrier’s Prayer

WATCHWORD:

Time for fun, smiles and a giggle or two.  Let’s start with this:

How well God must like you—you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon,
you don’t slink along Dead-End Roads,
you don’t go to Smart-Mouth College.
Psalm 1:1 The Message

Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart;
for God has already accepted your works. Ecclesiastes 9:7 Continue reading

Friday, April 24 – Faith Kicked In!

WATCHWORD:

9 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Continue reading
