Crossing the First Threshold

WATCHWORD:

13 All of God’s people here send you their greetings. 2 Cor 13:13

40 Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?” 41 So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. 42 You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me.” 43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in grave-clothes, his face wrapped in a head-cloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!” John 11:40-44

Crossing the First Threshold – Lenten Week #4

The Hero has finally committed to the journey, crossing from the familiar world to the unknown, from which there is no turning back.

Have you ever experienced a moment when you could tell beyond any doubt that you had changed? Have you ever encountered some of your “old grave clothes” that you must shed to feel truly free in Christ? When in the past have you crossed a threshold into the unknown? Do you need to take that step now? See The Mentor – Lenten Week #3

Closing Prayers:

Oh wondrous God, loving parent, Grace failed Christ, Community building spirit, together you are united and you’ll gather your people together as one family, in one communion. And over your table, sharing in your meal, we remain connected together by You.  may we all be one, centered by You. Amen.

God, as I leave the past behind, comfort my loved ones and give me the courage to proceed.  Amen.
