WATCHWORD:
6 “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, 8 for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me. John 17:6-8
Meditation:
Proclaim Jesus is Lord?
In a recent sermon Allen Jackson spoke on the need for us, as followers of Jesus, to do those things which please him and follow his word. When we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior that wasn’t just a nod of the head, there was a commitment that we would do good works which God has prepared us to do. John 17:6-8 is part of a prayer that Jesus prayed to our Father about us and our commitment.
In Pastor Jackson’s sermon he challenged us to put our lives where our words are and proclaim them, in a bold, clear statement that I am a follower of Jesus. The Proclamation of Believers which Pastor Jackson provided is so powerful, and I challenge each one of us to seriously take this statement into our hearts and boldly declare it:
Proclamation
God has uniquely blessed us — the best is yet to come.
The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.
He is the sovereign creator of all things.
Nothing is too difficult for Him, His love sustains us.
Jesus, God’s only son, is our Savior, Lord and King.
We live in a season of shaking, God is shaking the earth.
He is restoring the Jewish people and purifying His church.
If we look at the things which can be shaken we will be filled with terror.
If we look at the eternal Kingdom of our Lord we will be filled with anticipation.
In our determination we declare before one another and almighty God:
We will not stop.
We are not satisfied.
We are not distracted.
We are not weary in doing good.
We are not discouraged.
We are not afraid.
We have our eyes on the cross and our hearts set on the prize.
We believe the One who has promised is faithful.
We believe the Holy Spirit is our helper.
We believe we were created to honor the Living God.
We believe that we rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
We declare that the Lord is our refuge and our fortress.
We believe that what we ask in Jesus name our Father provides.
We believe that the King of Kings is returning to the earth in all His glory.
We declare that He is my God, in whom I trust! Amen.
We will not stop.
Battle Hymn of the Republic:
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord,
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He has loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on,
Glory, glory, hallelujah. Glory, glory hallelujah. Glory, glory hallelujah.
His truth is marching on
A Prayer Declaration:
I am a child of the King. Jesus is Lord of my life. I have submitted my world to Him. Through the blood of Jesus, I have been forgiven, justified, sanctified, and delivered from every evil attack. My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit – redeemed, cleansed and made whole — through the blood of Jesus. I am not alone. I am not defeated. I need not fear. The one who called me is faithful. I choose to lift my heart and voice in thanks for His grace and mercy to me. The joy of the Lord is my strength! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
