The Faith Walk

WATCHWORD:

Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will give you strength, and for sure I will help you. Yes, I will hold you up with My right hand that is right and good. Isaiah 41:10

Have I not told you? Be strong and have strength of heart! Do not be afraid or lose faith. For the Lord your God is with you anywhere you go.” Joshua 1:9

Meditation:

The Faith Walk

Have you ever been on a trust walk?  Trust walks or trust exercises are often used in staff team building in organizations.  Whether it was a “I’ll catch you” exercise or an actual walk where a blindfolded staff member was lead around by another on a rustic pathway, the purpose was to instill a sense of trust and trusting. Said another way, do you have trust or faith that your colleague will catch you or will not guide you into trouble on that pathway.

In some ways, trust exercises mimic our own trust in the Lord as we walk in faith. In Psalm 37, the Lord says to us “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will console you and watch over you.” Do you believe that? Do you trust that? Do you live according to that?

If, in your walk as a Christian, you have come to trust and rely on the Lord daily, then the worry connected to what may happen in the future, is largely taken away. You act on what the lord has told you in Psalm 73, “Yet I am with you; you hold me by my right hand.” Your future looks uncertain, some of the things or people you counted on no longer are there and you wonder what will the future hold. If you’re trusting your Lord you can remain at peace, even in the face of sadness, uncertainty and adversity.

You have heard this statement before, that all forms of worry is an act of rebellion, a sin, a doubting of the Lord. Worrying about things over which you have no control, is that an act of distrust?  Our role as children of God is to come before the Lord with that worry and turn it over to him. He will show you the next step forward, as well as the one after that. Rather than be bombarded by worry, you can relax  and enjoy the journey in His presence, trusting Him to open up the way before you as you go along. So be it.

A Thought for the Day:

A grateful heart protects you from negative thoughts.  Just something that came to me.  Stan Escott

Prayer for the Day:

Father, Miracle-Worker, I put my trust and my faith in You because I know that nothing is impossible with You. Just as You told Sarah about the coming birth of Isaac, I know You will make a way when there is no way. You raised Lazarus from the dead. You made the dry bones have flesh again and then made breath enter them. Father, You look out for Your people, and for that, I praise You. You are the same God today as You were then. I believe in the power of Your hand. I believe in Your intervention. My mind has silenced the critics. I cannot hear the non-believers. All I hear is You, my Father. What harm can come to me when I walk with You? Amen.
