I Believe…

I believe that God is in charge of all that meets us where we live.

I believe that everything that happens in our lives passes through God’s hand.

I believe with assurance that everything that touches our lives, both good and bad, including those that cause pain, are all gifts from God and God’s gifts all have purpose.

I believe that God loves us fully and completely regardless of how we live our sin filled lives.

I believe there is a God-answer in unanswered prayers.

I believe that joy is one of those incredible gifts from God. Joy is like happiness, yet more. Joy is a quality that we share, that is outgoing, that is loving, that is so contagious that in the sharing it is passed on.

I believe that qualities like kindness, gratitude, Love, gentleness, compassion and so many other positive descriptors are all contagious by design.

I believe that God isn’t limited by our expectations.

I believe that God’s love is far greater, deeper, more inclusive than we could ever imagine and if we ever actually experienced the full power of God’s love it would terrify us.

I believe that there are times when God doesn’t seem to make sense! Those times when we wonder where is God in the pain of a loved one, in the abuse of a child, in the injustice we seem to see every day, and we pause and think: Why God?  Yet, God is there.

I believe when we think that God cannot handle this awful problem before us, God is already there.

I believe that there are times when we make God too small. When we think, we need a bigger God to handle this crisis before us.  God is already there, able to do it all.

I believe that people are basically good, a wonderful creation by God.

I believe that when women pray they, are blessed by God. I believe that when men pray, they are blessed by God. I believe that when children pray, they are blessed by God. When we pray, God is glorified and the world is blessed.

I believe that God is present in and through even those people who can’t seem to ruin their lives fast enough!

I pray as hard as I can and it seems that my prayers are falling on deaf ears. This is not just unanswered prayer, these are times when God just doesn’t make sense because his answers do not jive with what I believe is the solution to this terrible thing I’m trying to solve. In those times, I believe that I am getting in the way of God.

I believe that nothing in this life is free, only the grace gifted us by God.  It is a gift that flows to us in quantities that are hard for us to imagine and our role, is to simply accept that grace.

I believe that Christ is glorified in the way we live our lives. Thought that do this nowI believe that too often we lose our soul in our efforts to gain the world when are souls are magnified only through Christ.

I believe that each of us, regardless of our beliefs, preach a sermon in the way we live our lives.

Can you add to this “I Believe” list?  If you can, I believe that God will bless you!
