Romance and Adventure
To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek Him the greatest adventure; to find Him, the greatest human achievement. — Saint Augustine
Are you in love with God? How is that expressed? Saint Augustine says it’s the greatest romance.
Romance? I don’t have a lot of experience in that category, but I am in love, even though she is no longer with me, for the Lord has assured me that Love never dies and, therefore, I know that it is precious. Our love romance with God is so all-encompassing, so amazing that it cries out to be shared, to pass on, to give it away, and yet always to possess it.
The greatest adventure. Adventure? Oh, yes, it is an adventure. There are times when we scale the heights, and risk it all; or we fall into the pit or darkness and struggle, yet we know the way out. There are times when we are walking along the very edge of a cliff, just a slip away from oblivion and yet on, we go in confidence that the Lord is with us. Sometimes when we are challenged to the very core of our being, yet we have peace. Is it an adventure, yes it truly is and it’s an adventure that continues because we know who is holding our hand and leading us. We know who has taken away our fear and replaced it with Holy Courage, as we continue on.
To seek and find Him. An achievement? Yes, finding God after seeking Him begins with an awareness and an acting on the meaning of born again, of accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, a realization that when the Lord says seek the Lord and you will find Him, you realize that God’s promises are always kept, and it is a constant process. How do I know? Well, friend, there is no other explanation for this all-pervading sense of peace that I feel.
Think about this: Ask is not singular act, it’s an integral part of our conversation with God. We are his child he is our Father, for us to ask is to pray. Seek and seeking, is a constant process in living out the Will that God has laid out for us. Never cease seeking. We Knock and the door will always be open to us. God will not deny us, even though we often deny Him. Note that each of these are behaviors we are called upon to act in our relationship with God. May each of us accept the yoke of Christ, and act. Amen.

Prayer:
Father, we pray that you will grant as the courage to act on the blessed gifts you have given us of an open door to you. Help us to keep in communication with you every day, in the going out and in the coming in of our days, when we seek your involvement in our affairs. Help us to be grateful for the graces that you heap upon us and instill in us the unavoidable fact that in our seeking we have found You. Help us to cherish that in all that we do, every breath that we take, every moment you have given us until we are with you in paradise. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
