WATCHWORD:
15 Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. John 21:15
1 But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. 3 So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes. 5 The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.” 8 Then they remembered that he had said this. Luke 24:1-8

The Resurrection – Lenten Week #7
The Hero faces their final ordeal, the outcome of which is far more important than their own existence. If they fail, others will suffer. Ultimately, they succeed, and emerge cleansed and reborn.
How did the meaning of the Resurrection first occur to you? What difference does the Resurrection make in how you live your life? What transformations or resurrections have you had? Have you ever felt reborn? What have you learned about yourself along your journey of these 40 days? What part of the purification process would you prefer never to repeat? Bulletin Board:
Wednesday — Jesus stays all day in Bethany, while in Jerusalem, plans are made by the Pharisees and the Sadducees to deal with this ‘trouble-maker’. In the evening Jesus dines with Simon, during which time a woman enters and anoints Jesus, who calls it a “beautiful thing”. Judas Iscariot slips out of Bethany and meets with Pharisees in the Temple — his betrayal of Jesus begins.
Closing Prayers:
Oh Wondrous God, like Peter, we can declare our love for Jesus, usually with ease. But when angry, pressured or tempted, can…and will…we still declare it with as much ease. Help us to be faithful and forgive us when we are not.
God, thank you for helping me to hear Your call, for keeping me safe on the journey, and for new life in You. Amen.
